Business Planning & Budgeting
Budget Structure & Versions Setup
Establishes the foundation for budgeting in IFS Cloud by defining budget versions, the code string dimensions used for budget values, and allocation keys. Ensures accounting periods, accounts and code part values exist before budget entry, and enables multiple parallel budget versions per company.
Budget Entry & Detailed Budgeting
Captures budget values into a budget version using annual amounts allocated to periods, direct period entry, copying from an existing version, or initiating start values from GL balances. Supports fixed code string entry and export/import to Excel for detailed preparation.
Forecasting & Rolling Forecast
Uses IFS Business Planning to build forecasts and rolling forecasts across planning units and transactions, applying planning rules, scenarios and multiple planning-unit versions. Supports mixing period and accumulated balances and reusing existing forecasts (revenue recognition, depreciation) as transaction sources.
Budget Control & Follow-up (Actual vs Budget)
Compares budget and plan values against actual outcomes using IFS Business Reporter and Business Analytics information sources. Supports recalculation of budgets, variance reporting in transaction/accounting/reporting currency, and follow-up throughout the fiscal year.
Planning Integration (Business Reporter / BI / Personnel Planning)
Connects budgeting and business planning to the Excel-based IFS Business Reporter for template-driven planning and write-back, to Personnel Planning sourced from IFS Human Resources, and to Group Consolidation and Business Analytics for group planning and analysis.
Everything you can see here is real and current, the names, the structure and the counts come straight out of the ModelIFS library and change as it grows. What sits behind the license is the worked-out content itself: the execution steps, the data each one needs, the configuration decisions, the KPIs, the integration points, the workshop questions and the diagrams. That is the part you would otherwise spend a program building from nothing.
