Discrete Manufacturing
Shop Order Creation & Release
Create a manufacturing shop order (manually or from a shop order requisition, DOP, customer order, Kanban or batch balancing) and release it to authorize production, generating material requirements and scheduled operations.
Product Structure & Routing Management
Define and maintain the product structure (BOM) and routing for a manufactured part revision - structure header, structure alternate and component line items plus routing operations - and promote alternates through Tentative, Plannable and Buildable status so Planning and Manufacturing can use them.
Shop Order Material Issue & Backflush
Issue component material to a shop order - manually from selected inventory locations, automatically via reservation/pick, or by backflush at operation reporting or receipt - so allocations move to Issued status and WIP is consumed.
Shop Order Operation Reporting & Shop Floor Clocking
Report execution of shop order operations from the Shop Floor Workbench or Time Clock - start/stop (clock) labor and machine time, report completed and scrapped quantities, and progress operation status - capturing man-hours and resource hours for costing.
Shop Order Receipt to Inventory
Receive the finished main product from a shop order into an inventory location (full or partial), optionally backflushing material, auto-reporting open operations, packing into handling units, and closing the shop order within tolerance.
Build-to-Print Product Structure & Routing Control
IFS Cloud represents a build-to-print article as an inventory part revision carrying a Manufacturing-type product structure header plus a matching routing alternate, both of which must be promoted from Tentative through Plannable to Buildable before Planning and Manufacturing can consume them. Routing operations are defined per work center with machine setup and run factors, and structure components can be tied to an operation number so material is issued at the correct step. Build-to-print itself is a contracting model rather than an IFS feature: the customer print is carried as Document Management revisions connected to the part revision, and the Site/Manufacturing Structure/Routing Update setting is what actually freezes the definition.
First Article Inspection & Qualification
First article inspection in IFS Cloud is realised with a Quality Management control plan connected to the shop order, which defines what to inspect for which part and which shop order operation, and with analyses created and confirmed against that first production run. Variable, attribute and categorical data points are recorded per serial number where Serial Registration is enabled, and Print Data Sheet and Print Analysis Results produce the objective inspection record. IFS Cloud does not ship AS9102 forms or AS9102 compliance content in the documentation reviewed here, so the customer-facing FAI report package is a document management and reporting exercise built on top of the analysis results.
Everything you can see here is real and current, the names, the structure and the counts come straight out of the ModelIFS library and change as it grows. What sits behind the license is the worked-out content itself: the execution steps, the data each one needs, the configuration decisions, the KPIs, the integration points, the workshop questions and the diagrams. That is the part you would otherwise spend a program building from nothing.
