Batch Process Manufacturing
Formula / Recipe (Product Structure) Management
Define and maintain formula/recipe-based product structures for batch process manufacturing, including components, co-products, by-products, scrap factors, lot/batch origin and expiration date origin, across the structure lifecycle (Tentative, Plannable, Buildable).
Batch Order Execution (Manufacturing Shop Order)
Execute batch/process production via manufacturing shop orders: release the order, issue/backflush recipe materials, report operations, and receive the main product (plus co-products and by-products) into inventory with lot/batch and expiration attributes.
Co-Product and By-Product Handling
Define and receive intentional co-products and unintentional by-products produced alongside the main batch product, including MRP supply use, cost distribution across produced parts, and dedicated or shared lot/batch numbering.
Lot/Batch Traceability and Genealogy
Reserve, generate and track lot/batch numbers across the batch production lifecycle to build as-built genealogy from raw materials through intermediates to finished goods, supporting recall and shelf-life control via Part Lot Batch, sub-lots and tracked structures.
Batch Balancing
Coordinate lot sizes across a multi-level demand tree so the total quantity of a shared component produced matches the quantity needed for multiple planned end products, then release and schedule the linked shop orders as one balanced batch.
In-Process Quality and Certificate of Analysis
Apply control plans and analyses to batch production to sample, test and confirm quality results at defined triggers (e.g., start shop order), gate batch receipt/stock movement, and support certificate of analysis for regulated process industries.
Lot & Batch Genealogy for Traceable Materials
Lot and batch genealogy in IFS Cloud rests on parts flagged lot/batch tracked, with the parent lot able to inherit its number from a component designated Lot/Batch Origin in the product or recipe structure and its expiration date from one or more Expiration Date Origin components. Where component-to-parent genealogy is required, Multi-Level Tracking causes a shop order tracked structure to record which component lots were consumed into which parent lot, and that structure must be complete before the parent is received. Lot/batch numbers are carried on issue, scrap and receipt transactions, including through the Shop Floor Connector APIs, so the as-built lot record is a by-product of normal execution.
Everything you can see here is real and current, the names, the structure and the counts come straight out of the ModelIFS library and change as it grows. What sits behind the license is the worked-out content itself: the execution steps, the data each one needs, the configuration decisions, the KPIs, the integration points, the workshop questions and the diagrams. That is the part you would otherwise spend a program building from nothing.
