Project Creation & Structure Definition

Establishes the project master record and its Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) hierarchy of project, sub projects and activities in IFS Cloud Project Management. A project is created in Initialized status and, once company, manager, customer and pre-posting are defined, can be promoted to Approved. Sub projects organize the plan into a manageable hierarchy against which cost, revenue and progress roll up.

Activity & Milestone Definition

Defines project activities - the fundamental items against which work is planned, resources assigned and objects connected - and marks significant events as activity milestones. Each activity carries early start/finish dates, total workdays, responsible persons, activity classes, a planned cost driver and a progress method, and moves through Planned, Released, Completed, Closed and Cancelled statuses.

Project Templates & Copy Project

Reuses existing project structures by copying a project or sub project to a new project/sub project via the Copy Project assistant. A start date for the earliest activity drives recalculation of all dates by offset, and configurable options control what is copied (documents, tasks, dependencies, resources, activity classes, pre-postings and more). Sub project prefixes are used to avoid ID collisions and enable reuse.

Project Connection (Sales Order, Manufacturing, Work Order)

Connects project activities to operational objects across IFS Cloud - customer orders, shop orders, work orders, purchase orders and DOP - so that planned and actual cost, revenue, hours and progress are reported back to the activity through cost/revenue elements. Connections may be system or manual, and drive project-based execution, netting and inventory.

Project Access, Roles & Authorization

Controls who can see and register data on a project using Project Access (teams granted access at sub project level) and project roles used in purchase authorization routing. When Project Access is on, only the manager, sub project managers and team members with granted access can view/update; project roles map persons to authorizers for purchase requisition/order approval.

Project WBS & Cost Breakdown Structure

Establishes the structural backbone of a construction project in IFS Cloud: the work breakdown structure of sub projects and activities, and the parallel cost breakdown structure of cost and revenue elements against which every commitment, cost and valuation is later reported. It translates a RICS NRM-based estimate or bill of quantities into an IFS project hierarchy that surveyors, planners and finance can all work from. Getting this right at set-up is what makes cost-value reconciliation, earned value and CVR reporting possible later.

Site Mobilisation & Setup

Establishes a newly awarded construction project in IFS Cloud and gets the site physically and legally ready to start work. The project, sub projects and mobilisation activities are created in IFS Cloud Project Management as the Work Breakdown Structure that all subsequent cost, time and progress posts against. CDM 2015 duty-holder appointments, F10 notification, the construction phase plan, welfare and site-establishment procurement are completed and evidenced before the construction phase begins.

FM Contract Mobilisation & Demobilisation

Governs the transition of a whole integrated FM contract into and out of live service across a multi-service estate. The mobilisation is run as an IFS Projects programme with parallel workstreams that load the estate into IFS Enterprise Asset Management, stand up the Service Contract and commercial model, and transfer people and statutory records. Demobilisation reverses the same structure so asset data, compliance evidence and the health and safety file leave the contract cleanly.

Gas Main Replacement & Cast Iron / Bare Steel Retirement Programme

Covers the multi-year capital programme that retires cast iron, wrought iron and bare steel distribution mains and the services attached to them, managed in IFS Cloud as a Project with Project Activities per programme year and street segment. Candidate segments are ranked on Criticality from leak history, material, vintage and consequence, then converted into Work Orders for excavation, main lay, tie-in, service transfer and abandonment. The programme closes each segment by commissioning the new main, retiring the old asset record and reporting the retired mileage into the annual regulatory inventory.

Plant Install / Replacement Project Delivery

Delivers HVAC plant installation and replacement projects - chiller, boiler, AHU, heat pump and controls replacements - from awarded order through to close-out. Covers project setup and WBS, budget baseline from the tender build-up, programme and milestone definition around long-lead plant, project-connected procurement, site delivery control and cost-to-complete review, and transfer of the new plant into the asset register.

T&D Capital Construction & As-Built Closeout

Delivery of transmission and distribution capital construction from approved work plan through design, material and contractor mobilisation, field construction, and the as-built closeout that converts spend into a recorded, maintainable asset. In IFS Cloud the job is a Project with Project Activities per structure run or circuit section, construction is executed as Work Orders and Work Tasks under those activities, and material and contractor cost lands via Inventory Part, Purchase Order and progress-based contractor certification. Closeout is the critical control: the as-built redline is reconciled to the design, new Functional Objects and Linear Asset segments are created or updated, retirements are recorded, and the capitalised cost is unitised and settled to fixed assets.

Site Acquisition & Permitting

Secures candidate sites for towers, small cells, cabinets and fibre nodes and drives each one through landlord negotiation, zoning, environmental and structural approval to a permitted, buildable site. In IFS Cloud each candidate is carried as a Sub Project beneath the rollout Project with a standard activity template, so acquisition milestones, lease documents and permit conditions are visible against the programme. A permitted site is the gate that releases detailed design and construction spend.

Fibre / FTTx Network Construction

Delivers the physical fibre plant - duct, chambers, poles, cable pulling, splicing and termination - from construction-issue design to a tested, documented route. In IFS Cloud the route is a Sub Project broken into sections and work fronts, with material issued from site stores against Project Activities or Work Orders and progress claimed by measured quantity. Completed sections feed the linear asset record that operations will later maintain.

What a license opens

Everything you can see here is real and current, the names, the structure and the counts come straight out of the ModelIFS library and change as it grows. What sits behind the license is the worked-out content itself: the execution steps, the data each one needs, the configuration decisions, the KPIs, the integration points, the workshop questions and the diagrams. That is the part you would otherwise spend a program building from nothing.
