Earned Value Management (EV/PV/AC, CPI/SPI)

Configure and operate earned value management for IFS Cloud projects so that Earned Value (BCWP), Planned Value (BCWS) and Actual Cost (ACWP) drive cost/schedule variance and performance indices. IFS calculates CPI, SPI, CV, SV, VAC, IEAC and IETC per activity, sub project and project based on the project Earned Value Method, Planned Cost Driver and Progress Method.

Progress Reporting (Activity & Project Progress)

Capture and roll up activity progress in IFS Cloud so that cost and hours progress aggregate to sub project and project level. Progress is reported through the chosen per-activity progress method (Duration, Template, Manual, Consumption Based, Tasks or Connected Objects) and consumed by earned value, cost control and analysis.

Project Cost Follow-up & Transaction Analysis

Follow up project cost and hours across estimated, planned, baseline, committed, used and actual values, and analyze the underlying project transactions. IFS Cloud exposes cost control on activity level plus gross-margin and follow-up reporting via the Project Transactions, Project Connection Details and Project Forecast information sources, split by WBS or CBS.

Daily Site Diary & Progress Capture

Records what actually happened on site each day and converts it into progress against project activities in IFS Cloud. The diary captures labour and plant on site, weather, deliveries, visitors, instructions and disruption events, while progress capture updates activity actual dates and percentage complete so earned value and scheduled work can be compared with budget. Contemporaneous site records are the evidence base for delay, disruption and extension of time claims, so the discipline of daily capture matters as much as the numbers.

Cost Value Reconciliation & Earned Value

Establishes the periodic commercial truth of a construction project in IFS Cloud by reconciling cost incurred against value earned and producing an earned value view of cost and schedule performance. Actual cost, accruals and committed cost are drawn from the IFS Cloud Project cost ledger and set against the certified and internally assessed value to derive margin, work in progress and provisions. Earned value indices and estimate at completion are then used to forecast the outturn position.

Earned Value Management on Defense Contracts

IFS Cloud calculates earned value (Budgeted Cost of Work Performed) from three parameters: the Earned Value Method on the project (Planned or Baseline), the Planned Cost Driver on the activity (Connected Objects, Activity Resources, Estimated Cost or Exclude Activity Resources), and the Progress Method on the activity (Duration, Template Progress, Manual, Consumption Based, Tasks or Connected Objects). Top-down methods assign activity progress down to each cost element line, while bottom-up methods roll cost-element earned value up into activity, sub project and project weighted average development. Analysis indicators including ACWP, BCWP, BCWS, CV, SV, CPI, SPI, VAC, IEAC and IETC are available through project performance analysis; formal EVMS compliance certification is a programme matter rather than an IFS feature.

What a license opens

Everything you can see here is real and current, the names, the structure and the counts come straight out of the ModelIFS library and change as it grows. What sits behind the license is the worked-out content itself: the execution steps, the data each one needs, the configuration decisions, the KPIs, the integration points, the workshop questions and the diagrams. That is the part you would otherwise spend a program building from nothing.
