Demand Forecasting & S&OP
Demand Planning & Statistical Forecasting
Generates statistical demand forecasts in IFS Cloud Demand Planning from historical demand at forecast part, group or query level. IFS provides sixteen forecast models (moving average, exponential smoothing variants, Croston's intermittent, Bayesian, and an AI-based TSPT/TimesFM model) that can be combined with seasonal profiles, plus a suite of accuracy measures to select and tune the best model. Forecasts are exported to Master Scheduling for downstream planning.
Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP)
Balances demand and supply at an aggregate product-family level in IFS Cloud. Level 1 part forecasts are aggregated up to Level 0 part families for family-level master scheduling and S&OP, and Sales & Operations Planning for Make to Stock / Make to Order values can be imported into the Business Planning module to reconcile the operational plan with the financial business plan.
Forecast Consumption & Netting
Decrements (consumes) forecast against actual customer orders so that forecast plus unconsumed demand forms a blended total demand over the planning horizon in IFS Master Scheduling. Consumption occurs during MS Level 1 calculation and, when Online Consumption is enabled, when a customer order or quotation line is entered or changed. Time fences and roll/drop rules govern how unconsumed forecast crosses the demand time fence into the projected balance.
Service Parts Demand Forecasting
Produces the demand forecast that drives service parts inventory for a manufacturer installed base, using IFS Cloud Demand Planning together with the classification and demand models of Inventory Planning and Replenishment (IPR). Because aftermarket demand is largely intermittent, the process segments SKUs by volume value, issue frequency and lifecycle stage and applies fast-mover models to movers and Croston or slow-mover models to sporadic parts. The approved forecast is exported from Demand Planning and consumed by IPR, Master Scheduling and MRP so stocking and procurement work from one number.
Load Forecasting Process
Load Forecasting Process is an electric distribution utility planning process executed across FSM/FSM Connect/FSM Mobile with SAP ISU and GIS integration. It is mapped to IFS Demand Forecasting & S&OP and comprises 39 extracted steps covering request intake, validation, site/technical work and cost/work-order handling. Provenance is the client To-Be draw.io planning flows.
Everything you can see here is real and current, the names, the structure and the counts come straight out of the ModelIFS library and change as it grows. What sits behind the license is the worked-out content itself: the execution steps, the data each one needs, the configuration decisions, the KPIs, the integration points, the workshop questions and the diagrams. That is the part you would otherwise spend a program building from nothing.
