Health & Safety
Incident & Accident Reporting
Register incidents and accidents causing harm to personnel or damage to property, capturing injured persons (internal/external), injuries/illnesses, substances involved, and connected objects, as the entry point to the HSE incident lifecycle.
Incident Investigation & Root Cause Analysis
Assign investigators to reported incidents, record findings and participating external agencies, then analyze probable causes, recommend corrective/preventive measures and perform incident risk assessment.
Safety Inspections & Audits
Plan and conduct safety inspections using inspection templates and types, answer template-driven and ad-hoc questions, and record actions arising from inspections and audits.
Risk Assessment & Job Safety Analysis
Identify, analyze and manage workforce and task risks through the Risk Analysis lifecycle (Preliminary to Closed) with defined risk assessment levels, supporting job/task safety analysis for high-risk work.
Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA)
Raise, assign and track corrective and preventive actions arising from incidents, safety inspections and audits, driving them to closure to prevent recurrence.
Site Health & Safety Management (CDM)
Governs how a construction contractor discharges its CDM 2015 duties across the project lifecycle inside IFS Cloud, from duty holder appointment and F10 notifiability assessment through construction phase plan approval to health and safety file handover. The CDM control documents are held as revision-controlled records in IFS Cloud Document Management and attached to the Project and Sub Project structures that mirror the pre-construction, construction and handover phases. Competency evidence for site personnel is carried on the Employee and Competency records so that access and task assignment can be gated.
Permit to Work & Site Inductions
Controls site access and high-risk activity authorisation in IFS Cloud by tying induction records and competency currency to the Employee record, and permit authorisation to the Work Order or Work Task that carries the activity. Permits, risk assessments and method statements are held as controlled Documents linked to the task so the authorisation trail is auditable. The process covers issue, control during validity, and formal close-out returning the area to a safe state.
Emergency Operating Procedure (EOP) Execution & Drills
Keeps the site EOP library controlled and rehearsed using IFS Cloud. EOPs are held as revision-controlled Documents linked to the Equipment Objects they cover, and drills are driven from PM Actions so each procedure is exercised on a defined cycle and generates a Work Order with an auditable checklist. Drill outcomes update both the procedure revision and operator Competency records.
Nonconformance, MRB Disposition & CAPA
In IFS Cloud a detected nonconformance is raised as a Material Review Board (MRB) case against an inventory part in stock, a purchase order receipt or a shop order, using a non conformance code defined as basic data. Creating the case puts the parts into a Planned MRB in an isolating availability control so they cannot be used, and for purchase receipts it blocks further receipt into stock, scrapping, returning and cancellation of connected receipts until the case is dispositioned. Disposition outcomes (use-as-is, rework, return to supplier, scrap) are recorded in IFS, while the formal corrective and preventive action loop itself has no documented dedicated CAPA object in the IFS Cloud documentation reviewed here.
Permit to Work & Contractor Safety
Controls who is allowed to work on the estate, on what, and under what precautions. Contractor organisations are pre-qualified against the Supplier record, high-risk tasks are gated behind an authorised permit to work, and construction-scale works trigger CDM dutyholder appointments. No standard IFS Cloud object exists for a permit, so the permit is carried as a controlled Document against the Work Order or held in an integrated permit system.
RAMS & Permit-to-Work Control
Controls how high-risk building services work is authorised and executed: producing and versioning task-specific risk assessments and method statements, determining which activities need a written permit, issuing and signing permits through an authorised responsible person, making the controls visible at the point of work, and handing plant back on completion. Jurisdiction-neutral in principle; the design here follows HSE human factors guidance on permit-to-work systems and HSG250, which is the key guidance in this area and applicable to all industries where permit-to-work systems are used.
Permit to Work & Energy Isolation (LOTO)
Governs how intrusive work on oil and gas facilities is authorised and how hazardous energy is isolated, verified and restored. In IFS Cloud the permit is anchored to the Work Order and Work Task for a Functional Object, so no execution is reported without a valid authorisation and a recorded zero-energy check. Permit and isolation certificates are held as controlled Document records because IFS Cloud has no standard permit-to-work object.
Process Safety Management & Barrier Assurance
Keeps the safety and environmental critical elements that prevent loss of containment demonstrably fit for purpose. In IFS Cloud the barriers are Functional Objects carrying a Criticality classification, their performance standards become Maintenance Plans and PM Actions, and proof-test outcomes are captured as Measurements. Impairments are managed as controlled deviations and performance is reported against the API RP 754 tiered indicator framework.
Incident Reporting & Investigation
Captures, investigates and closes out HSE incidents and near misses across oil and gas operations, and drives the statutory notifications that follow. IFS Cloud Health and Safety supports incident registration, investigation assignment, cause analysis with a calculated risk value, corrective action tasks and a closure questionnaire. Regulator notification timers and reportability rules are configured per jurisdiction because BSEE and HSE impose different windows and forms.
Health & Safety Permits (Work at Height & RF Exposure)
Controls the two hazards that dominate telecom field work: climbing towers, poles and rooftops, and working close to live transmitting antennas. Covers hazard classification of the planned task, competency and equipment verification for the assigned crew, determination of the RF exposure regime against MPE limits, permit raising and authorisation, on-site issue and pre-climb checks, and permit close-out with the evidence retained. In IFS Cloud the permit and its controls hang off the Work Order, and the competency check gates which resources can be dispatched at all.
Safety Permits (Confined Space, LOTO & Hot Work)
Wraps a safe system of work around every wet well, digester, clarifier and pipe gallery intervention at the plant. Work preparation screens each Work Task for permit-required confined space entry, hazardous energy and hot work exposure, then issues the corresponding permits before execution and closes them on return to service. In IFS Cloud the permits attach to the Work Order and Work Task against the Functional Object, competency is checked against Employee qualification records, and the completed permits are retained as evidence Documents.
Everything you can see here is real and current, the names, the structure and the counts come straight out of the ModelIFS library and change as it grows. What sits behind the license is the worked-out content itself: the execution steps, the data each one needs, the configuration decisions, the KPIs, the integration points, the workshop questions and the diagrams. That is the part you would otherwise spend a program building from nothing.
